PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a binder resin for toner capable of manufacturing a toner which satisfactorily exhibits anti-hot-offset properties, has excellent fixability at a low temperature, and has a wide usable temperature range (fixable temperature range). SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the binder resin for toner, a mass molecular weight distribution after kneading under specified conditions has maximum values in a range of≤15,000 and in the range of 3×10<SP>5</SP>-1×10<SP>6</SP>respectively, and a specified amount of Fischer-Tropsch wax is contained. The method of manufacturing the binder resin for the toner includes a step of preparing a liquid mixture containing the following low/medium/high molecular weight vinyl polymers (a)-(c) and a step of removing a solvent from the liquid mixture, and one of (a)-(c) is polymerized in the presence of Fischer-Tropsch wax. Here, (a) represents at least a low molecular weight vinyl polymer; (b) represents a medium molecular weight vinyl polymer; and (c) represents a high molecular weight vinyl polymer.
