PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To not only stably carry out water supply but also automatically supply water required according to the growth of a plant and readily and simply cultivate the plant. SOLUTION: The plant is cultivated in a plant cultivating bed material 1 accommodated in a planting vessel P1 housed in a water storage vessel P2 storing water W. The planting vessel P1 is composed so as to float on the water in a state accommodating the plant cultivating bed material 1. A water penetration hole 2 is formed in the bottom B of the vessel P1 so as to make the water penetrable from the outside thereof to the inside while floating the planting vessel P1 on the water.
