<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rapid tension from acting on a recording sheet, while preventing double feeding. <P>SOLUTION: This paper feeder K is provided with a sorting roll Rs for feeding sheets S taken out by a pickup roll Rp by separating the sheets S one by one in a pressure contact region of a feed roll Rf and a retard roll Rr and a carrying roll Ra for carrying the sheets S fed by the sorting roll Rs and passing a curved sheet carrying passage SH1. The paper feeder K is provided with a roll pressure contact device 11 for bringing the feed roll Rf and the retard roll Rr into pressure contact with each other, and a pressure contact device control means for generating strong pressure contact force in the pressure contact region when feeding the sheets S by the sorting roll Rs and weakening the pressure contact force in the pressure contact region by controlling the roll pressure contact device 11 before or after holding sheet carrying direction distal ends of the sheets S by the carrying roll Ra. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
