PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection tool for inspecting the working accuracy of the face of a valve seat installed in a cylinder head and its inspection method. SOLUTION: This inspection tool 20 for inspecting the working accuracy of the face 14b of the valve seat installed in the cylinder head in which a valve 16 is disposed aslant relative to a reference plane BL comprises a shaft part 20e allowed to be inserted into a valve guide 15 for guiding the valve 16 installed in the cylinder head 10, a face part 21b installed co-axially with the shaft part 20e and having a taper matching the face 14b, and a measurement taper part 20a formed co-axially with the shaft part 20e as a reverse taper on the large diameter side of the face part and having a taper angle twice that formed by the axes of the reference plane BL and the valve 16.
