PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mirror device for a vehicle stably working with prescribed external force by inhibiting inclination of a clutch member. SOLUTION: In this mirror device 10 for the vehicle, a case member 36 to hold a driving motor 44 and a gear plate 52 to which torque of the driving motor 44 is transmitted are made free to rotate around a support shaft 30 fixed on a car body, and the clutch member 56 fitted to the support shaft 30 so as to be impossible to rotate and free to slide in the axial direction avoids rotation of the gear plate 52 normally pushed on it by energizing force and allows rotation of the gear plate 52 by moving in the axial direction against the energizing force by pressurizing force based on external force of not less than a prescribed value acting on the case member 36. Fitting length (h) of the clutch member 56 with the support shaft 30 is h≥4×μ×L when distance between a acting portion of the pressurizing force and a shaft center is L and a static friction coefficient with the support shaft 30 isμ.
