<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of the control of toner concentration without causing cost rise by improving the quality of an image by making the result of the detection of a test patch for detecting the toner concentration stable while solving a problem on an afterimage or the like without raising the manufacturing cost of a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: The printer controller 701 of the image forming apparatus counts the cumulative number of rotating times from the rotation starting time of an intermediate transfer belt 5a by an intermediate transfer belt rotating times cumulative counter, calculates the present phase shift amount of the photoreceptor drum 1 and the belt 5a based on the counted value and the phase shift amount of the drum 1 and the belt 5a at rotating once, and performs control to decide time taken until starting forming of the image from an intermediate transfer belt reference signal based on the calculated phase shift amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
