摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for driving a brushless motor capable of preventing overshoot, improving operational efficiency, and stably driving its rotation from the start. <P>SOLUTION: This brushless motor 50 is controlled so as to drive the motor by increasing the frequency of a rotating field generated at an armature winding 52 and a duty ratio of voltage applied to the motor from the start in a prescribed pattern. When a compulsory rotation period elapses from the start or the frequency reaches a target frequency during the compulsory rotation period, it is controlled so as to drive it based on a pole position of a magnet rotor 54.
