PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lead wire exposed on the end face of a glass substrate from corroding in a liquid crystal display device provided with a thin film transistor. SOLUTION: The glass substrate 1 of a size for a plurality of liquid crystal display devices is finally cut along a cut line 2 shown by a dot dash line and divided into each unit. For instance, the right end of a gate line 8 connected to the gate electrode of a thin film transistor 7 is connected to a common line 5 for the static electricity countermeasure arranged outside the cut line 2 through a wiring line 10, a connection pad 12 in a gate drive loading area 11 and a lead wire 13. The lead wire 13 is simultaneously made of the same material as a pixel electrode 6 consisting of ITO. Since the ITO is not easily corroded, the lead wire 13 exposed on the end face of the glass substrate 1 after cutting the glass substrate 1 can be prevented from corroding.
