PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable performing stably tracking servo even when a center level of amplitude of a tracking signal is deviated at the time of seek for a different region in a case in which regions of two or more having different physical characteristics are formed on a disk. SOLUTION: When tracking servo operation is turned off because of seek operation astriding different regions formed in an optical disk, a center level of amplitude of a tracking error signal is calculated. And in a period in which the tracking servo is turned on, deviation of an amplitude level of the tracking error signal is canceled based on the center level calculated in this way. Thereby, when the center level of amplitude of the tracking error signal is caused in accordance with accessing the region having the different physical characteristics, this deviation can be compensated.
