PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relief valve structure of an oil pump which suppresses an increase in the number of component items and processes for working are not increased, prevents oil discharged only in a required and sufficient area from scattering, and air from being entangled to an oil pan. SOLUTION: The structure is provided with the oil pump 5 installed to a side surface cover 2 covering the side of an engine body 1 and the relief valve 9 which is formed in an oil pump cover 8 and controls a lubricating oil pressure to a set pressure. By fixedly installing the side surface cover 2 to the engine body 1, an oil sump 11 to store oil discharged from the oil relief hole 10 of the relief valve 9 is formed of an oil pump cover 8 installed to the side surface cover 2 and the engine body 1.
