An implantable tissue-stimulating device (30) for an implantee. The device (30) comprises an elongate member (31) comprising a first portion (32) that is insertable into the implantee and a second portion (35) that is at least partially supportable by the first portion (32). The second portion (35) is movable relative to the first portion (32) as the device (30) is implanted. The second portion (35) includes a shaping member (38), that is movable between a first configuration and a second configuration. The shaping member (38) enables a change in configuration of the second portion (35) during implantation of the device (30).
