Substituted heterocyclic amide derivatives represented by the general formula (I) and agricultural and horticultural chemicals having excellent insecticidal, bacteriocidal, and acaricidal effects: (I) wherein R<1> is H, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C1-6 alkoxy C1-6 alkyl, (substituted) benzoyl, or the like; R<2> is H, halogeno, or halo C1-6 alkyl; R<3> is H, halogeno, C1-6 alkyl, CN, OH, C1-6 alkoxy, C1-6 alkylsulfonyl, NH2, (substituted) phenoxy, (substituted) phenylthio, or the like; t is 0 to 1; m is 0 to 6; U is a group represented by one of the following formulae U1 to U4 or the like; Z is O or S; Q is a group represented by one of the following formulae Q1 to Q5 or the like; X is halogeno, CN, C1-9 alkyl, a (substituted) heterocyclic group, or the like; n is 1 to 3; and W is O, S, or N(R<4>).
