<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for electric power steering of inexpensive constitution wherein variation in the characteristics of input signals for monitoring is adjusted, and thus CPU operation can be monitored with accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: EEPROM 12 stores adjustment values for adjusting the characteristics of motor current detection signals and torque input signals, respectively. A monitor circuit arrangement 17 adjusts the motor current detection signals and the torque input signals, respectively, based on the adjustment values, and determines whether the result of computation by a main CPU 11 is normal or not, using the adjusted motor current detection signals and torque input signals. Thus, the main CPU 11 can be accurately monitored with an inexpensive constitution, and the safety of the electric power steering can be further enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
