<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food and drink transport apparatus of which the ability of identifying a dish is not deteriorated even when each dish etc. gets dirty. <P>SOLUTION: The food and drink transport apparatus is provided with: a non-optical storage means 11 for identification at each dish 1; a reader 28 for reading the non-optical storage means 11 of each dish revolving on a transport path 3 in the transport path 3; and a control means 30 for managing each dish 1 based on an outputted signal from the reader 28. Information on each dish 1 revolving on the transport path 3 is read by reading the non-optical storage means 11 provided at each dish 1 by the reader 28, thereby adverse effect such as getting dirt occurring in an optical style is eliminated. Each dish 1, the food and drink as the result, can be managed without regard to dirt at the non-optical storage means 11 or that at the reader.
