PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic wire which is used for a carding machine, hardly damages or cuts fibers even at a high cylinder speed, can reduce the content of short fibers in card slivers, and can improve the productivity of high speed cards. SOLUTION: The action surface 2 of each of the teeth 1 of the metallic wire A is inclined to both the parallel sides 3, 4 of the metal wire A. One 5 of the corners between the action surface and the sides 3, 4 is an acute angle, and the other 6 is an obtuse angle.
