PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic brush capable of having both the elasticity and softness in the tip of bristles at the same time though the bristles are formed of chemical fibers, capable of equalizing characteristics of the brush when a brush part is formed by spirally winding a group of bristles around a core wire, and therefore, capable of appropriately applying a cosmetic material to eyelashes or eyebrows without excess or shortage and finishing the eyelashes or eyebrows to look natural. SOLUTION: The cosmetic brush comprises a brush body 1 and a holder 2 for supporting the brush body 1. The brush body 1 comprises the core wire 3 and the brush part 5 consisting of the group of bristles 4 spirally fixed around the core wire 3. Tapered bristle tips 13 and 14 are formed on both ends of the bristles 4 formed of chemical fibers. The elasticity and the softness at the tip on left and right halves of the bristles 4 projecting to left and right sides of the core wire 3 are varied by varying the length from the fixed base end to the projection end of the bristles 4 fixed to the core wire 3 along the direction of spiralling.
