<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of stably forming a distinct high-resolution image by restraining the occurrence of faulty fixing and the scattering of toner. <P>SOLUTION: A color copying machine has a high-resolution mode in which one high-resolution image is formed based on first image data and second image data divided from inputted image data. The color copying machine is provided with a developing bias control circuit 104, which controls the developing bias V<SB>DC</SB>of a developing apparatus 108. By setting the value of the developing bias V<SB>DC</SB>to an appropriate value by the circuit 104 every time development is performed, the adhesive amount of the toner in the high-resolution mode is made nearly equal to that in a standard copying mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
