GAS SENSOR AND GAS CONCENTRATION DETECTING APPARATUS OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a detection error of a gas concentration due to individual differences of gas sensors.

SOLUTION: The gas sensor has a cell consisting of a solid electrolyte material with a pair of electrodes. In the cell, one electrode in a chamber for introducing an exhaust gas presents reduction activity to NOX. The gas sensor S for outputting a detection signal in response to a NOXconcentration in the exhaust gas is provided with an information storage media 51 for storing detection sensitivity etc. as an individual data for defining a detection characteristic of each gas sensor S. Although the detection characteristics are different between the gas sensors S due to a manufacturing variation etc., an ECU 32 can accurately detect the NOXconcentration based on the individual data stored in the information storage media 51.
