<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device and an electronic device with the same that can control cursor movements in X directions (longitudinal directions) and Y directions (lateral directions) through a rotatable operating part without using arithmetic processing. <P>SOLUTION: The input device comprises the operating part 30 restricted to axial rotation on a first rotation axis A and axial rotation in rotation directions on a second rotation axis B perpendicular to the first rotation axis A, a first detection mechanism 51 for detecting the rotary travel of the operating part 30 on the first rotation axis A to send a control signal, and a second detection mechanism 53 for detecting the rotary travel of the operating part 30 on the second rotation axis B to send a control signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
