PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing apparatus for detecting composition changes enabling clear notification of the occurrence of the composition changes to a user, preventing nonconformity as to mismatch between a reproduced image and attached image information. SOLUTION: In a digital camera, a system controller 1 detects whether the composition changes have occurred from the time of a focus lock or a photometry lock to the completion of photographing, and attaches composition change information, to an image file produced after photographing, indicating the detected existence or non-existence of the composition changes from the time of the focus lock or the photometry lock to the completion of photographing. When the compositional changes have occurred from the time of the focus lock or the photometric lock to the completion of photographing, the system controller 1 displays a focusing mark or an AF lock point mark with a green frame, when displaying the image on a TFT display section 323.
