PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily input a telephone number and to quickly call a desired map by the telephone number. SOLUTION: The map display device is constituted of a storage means 3 which stores map data having a position coordinate corresponding to the telephone number, a display means 12 which displays a map based on the map data stored in the storage means 3, a ten key input means 11 consisting of numeric keys "0" to "9", a telephone number input picture display processing means which discriminates the input key of the ten key input means 11 and displays a telephone number input picture together with "0" as the first number of the digit on the display means 12 by directly switching from map display mode to telephone number input mode under the condition of "0" being inputted, a retrieval means which retrieves the position coordinate corresponding to "0" and the number successively inputted by the ten key input means 11, a map display processing means which displays a map including the position coordinate on the display means 12, and also a voice output means 16 which outputs voices in accordance with the input.
