PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire and smoke prevention screen device for an elevator for being installed integrally with a jamb effectively utilizing the jamb, enhancing workability and improving an appearance. SOLUTION: In this fire and smoke prevention screen device, an upper frame 3 of the jamb installed at a doorway 2 is formed to house a winding drum 11 inside, a slit 14 is provided in an under surface of the upper frame for suspending a screen 12 wound on the winding drum in the doorway, and side frames 4L on both right and left sides of the jamb are respectively provided a guide groove 15 formed to guide an end part of a seat plate 13 provided at a lower end of the screen in a vertical direction. When a braking device braking the rotation of the winding drum is released, the screen wound by the winding drum falls down by the dead weight of the seat plate and the screen to close the doorway.
