PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing steel for carburizing where a carburizing rate can efficiently be improved. SOLUTION: REM (rare earth metal)is added to steel for carburizing in which, by weight, the concentration of C is 0.1 to 0.3%.
