PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accelerator enabling a large-current beam incidence by setting a beam-incident position so as to go around an orbit without the need of control of a conventional pulse field and optimally selecting a period of oscillation, in the case of beams emitted from a septum electrode. SOLUTION: The charged particle accelerator is provided with a charged particle generator, a particle accelerating means, a deflecting electromagnet, and a septum electrode as well as a vacuum duct. Charged particles irradiated from the charged particle generator are entered into an orbit by the septum electrode alone, deflected by the deflecting electromagnet, accelerated by the particle accelerating means, and going around an orbit in the vacuum duct, with the beam-incident position of the beams incident through the septum electrode toward an inner periphery side of an equilibrium orbit on an orbital plane.
