A peptide having an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 or 13 (preferably a peptide having an amino acid sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOS:2 to 9 or SEQ ID NOS: 10 and 15 to 17) is employed as the active ingredient of a proliferation promoter or a differentiation promoter for cells such as osteoblasts, chrondroblasts, cementoblasts, bone marrow-origin mesenchymal stem cells or periodontal membrane cells.
