The drive motor (1) acts on a belt pulley through a drive belt. The belt pulley (5) which is mounted with the drive belt (3) on a common drive pulley shaft (10) is a gearwheel (5). At least two toothed belts (6) produce a positive connection with the gearwheel (4) on the motor side whereby a double brake (2) acts on the shaft of the motor. The upward moving cage is protected against over-speed by a double brake acting on the motor side and a single brake acting on the drive pulley shaft.
