<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium-ion secondary battery surely operating a safety mechanism before an internal short circuit occurs to enhance safety by controlling the operating time of the safety mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A safety valve 14 for exhausting decomposed gas of an electrolyte generating inside the battery in overcharge to the outside is installed in the lithium-ion secondary battery 19, and by setting valve opening pressure at 0.54 MPa, the safety valve 14 is opened about 95 seconds before an internal short circuit occurs in the overcharge to exhaust the decomposed gas of the electrolyte to the outside in an early stage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
