<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a photo interrupter and a shading board against damage even if a member as an object gets out of a prescribed traveling route to make the shading plate collide with the photo interrupter. <P>SOLUTION: A first case 1 equipped with a light emitting device 4 and a light receiving device 5 arranged at a prescribed position so as to confront the light emitting device 4, and a second case 2 equipped with two sets of lead terminals 6 and 6' connected to the light emitting device 4 and the light receiving device 5 respectively, are connected together in a turnable manner. Or, a case 8 is equipped with the light emitting device 4 and the light receiving device 5 arranged at a prescribed position so as to confront the light emitting device 4.
