PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system where a secondary battery is appropriately charged when an electronic camera is left as it is after data is transferred from the electronic camera. SOLUTION: The camera system is constituted of the electronic camera equipped with the attachable/detachable secondary battery and charging equipment connected to the electronic camera, performing at least either of charge supply to the secondary battery attached to the electronic camera and power supply to the electronic camera, and connected to external equipment. The camera system is equipped with a control means for controlling which is performed, the charge supply to the secondary battery or the power supply to the electronic camera, and a detection means for detecting that the data is being transferred to the external equipment through the charging equipment from the electronic camera, and it is characterised in that the control means gives priority to the power supply to the electronic camera when the power source of the electronic camera is turned on, and stops the power supply to the electronic camera but performs the charge supply to the secondary battery when the transfer of the data is not detected for specified time or more by the detection means.
