GLASS PANE SUPPORTING STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently utilize a glass pane as a strength member for reinforcing the side of a skeleton. SOLUTION: In this glass pane supporting structure wherein both upper and lower ends of the glass pane 6 are supported on the side of the skeleton A in such a manner that a pane surface 4 is positioned along a vertical direction, both the upper and lower ends of the glass pane are supported on the side of the skeleton via a supporting member by fixing the supporting member 9 to the side of the skeleton; and the supporting member 9 is equipped with an external force transmission part 7 which can transmit a vertical external force from the side of the skeleton to each of both the upper and lower ends almost throughout both the upper and lower ends, and a displacement inhibiting part 8 which can inhibit the pane-thickness-direction displacement of both the upper and lower ends almost throughout both the upper and lower ends by sandwiching both the upper and lower ends from the pane-thickness direction of them.
