PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an controller capable of easily correcting offset according to a detected temperature even when a temperature change occurs, and an optical disk unit. SOLUTION: With temperature sensors 106, 114 disposed in an HAIC 101 which is a semiconductor device, and in a servo signal generation IC 107, offset values corresponding to the temperature changes of the IC's 101, 107 are set on a table and held in a memory 119. An offset value necessary for offset correction is obtained from the table held in the memory 119 according to the result of temperature detection to carry out offset correction.
