PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gripping method for an endless annular member wherein a conveying device becomes compact by reducing the entire space or the like of a storing part of the endless annular member before conveying without influencing on a quality of the endless annular member when a plurality of endless annular members are simultaneously conveyed. SOLUTION: In the gripping method, steel bands W having flexibility are stored in a plurality of storing parts Tc formed on the same surface in the sideways falling state and are gripped and taken out. At least any one of the plurality of steel bands W is positioned and stored in the storing part Tc in the deflected state. When the steel bands W are taken out from the respective storing parts Tc, the steel bands W are gripped such that the adjacent steel bands W are brought into press contact with each other by the deflection of at least any one of the steel bands W.
