PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress eddy current loss in a base plate when a motor is driven. SOLUTION: The motor 1 comprises a rotor section 3 having an annular field magnet 32, and a stator section 2 having an armature 22 disposed oppositely to the field magnet 32 wherein the rotor section 3 rotates about a shaft 41 with respect to the stator section 2 when a current being supplied to the armature 22 is controlled. The stator section 2 further comprises the base plate 21 of aluinium extending in the direction substantially perpendicular to the shaft 41. The field magnet 32 is secured to the outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical rotor hub 31 formed of a magnetic body and an annular shield plate is secured to the surface of the field magnet 32 on the base plate 21 side. Consequently, magnetic flux of the field magnet 32 passing through the base plate 21 is reduced and eddy current loss in the base plate is suppressed when the motor 1 is driven.
