PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device which realizes the decrease of operation switches, and the decrease of motors and the reduction of cost when constituting the device so that a lens is driven manually, and is made compact and has good operability by constituting the device so that its operation (on/off operation of a power source switch), lens barrier opening/closing action, and lens moving action (zoom action) in an optical axis direction can be performed by one operation means. SOLUTION: The photographing device consists of a photographic lens to photograph a subject, the barrier to cover the front of the photographic lens at the non-photographing time, a barrier opening/closing means to open/close the barrier, a driving means to drive the photographic lens in the optical axis direction and the operation means to operate the photographing device, and performs the operation of the device, the barrier opening/closing action and the action for moving the lens to a specified position in the optical axis direction by one operation means. By the constitution where the lens barrier opening/closing action at the photographing time is performed with the lens moving action in the optical axis direction such as zoom by one operation means, the number of operation means is reduced, so that the compact photographing device having good operability is obtained. In the constitution where the lens is moved manually, a new motor for driving a lens is not provided, so that the cost is reduced and the device is made small and lightweight by the portion of the size of the motor.
