PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a dry polymer granule to be used as a detergent additive which is soluble or dispersible in water, has low hygroscopicity and has both a density and a particle size that are necessary for preparation of a detergent tablet. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the polymer granule comprises (a) a process in which a neutralized emulsion polymer having a Tg in a range from -20°C to 250°C is introduced as a seed particle, and (b) a process in which an aqueous solution of a neutralized emulsion polymer is sprayed on the seed particle so as to attain a particle size in a range of 100-3,000μm, a bulk density above 500 g/l, and a low hygroscopicity.
