PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of non-destructive examination by polishing the surface including a narrowed part and a fitting part of a large-sized part which has been hard to polish without worsening the surface finish to remove an oxidized film of the surface. SOLUTION: According to this polishing method of a large-sized part, polishing grains composed of petrochemical polymer material having elasticity, specific gravity of 0.5 to 1.8 g/cm<SP>3</SP>and elastic modulus of 10 to 200 ckg/cm<SP>2</SP>or natural raw material having elasticity and abrasive grains are projected to collide with a surface to be polished of the large-sized part to have a volume of 5 to 300 cc/cm<SP>2</SP>sec per unit area at the speed of 600 m to 3,000 m per min, and the polishing grains are slid to polish the surface to be polished of the large-sized part.
