PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively perform washing to remove clogging of a screen in a screw dehydrator. SOLUTION: This screw dehydrator is equipped with the screen 3 surrounding a lateral screw 2 and a casing 5 surrounding the screen 3. The casing 5 is formed to have a pentagonal cross section by making the bottom plate 6 to protrude like a V-shape. One end of the V-shaped bottom plate 6 has a drain port 9, to which a drain pipe 12 is attached in the direction of the screw shaft. The casing 5 is provided with a hot water nozzle 20 to eject hot water above the screen and hot water is supplied to the outer face of the screen 3 prior to the washing. Openings 7, 8 formed in the upper face and side face of the casing 5 are provided with transparent covers 10, 11, and if necessary, an illumination lamp 20 is disposed so that the dehydration state or clogging state of the screen can be observed.
