<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data recording system and image data recording method for dealing with continuously recorded images not to damage the reproducing function such as by frames or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The image data recording system is capable of dealing with frame recording for generating image data to which intra-frame compression is applied, and continuous recording for generating the image data to which intra-frame compression is applied, and image data wherein intra-frame compression is applied to at least one frame, and is provided with image data compressing means (10, 12, 15, 16, 17) for applying intra-frame compression or inter-frame compression to a supplied image signal, a first recording means (7) for recording the image data compressed therein onto a first recording medium (8) to identify the frame recording or continuous recording, decoding means (13, 14, 22) for performing intra-frame decoding or intra-frame decoding and inter-frame decoding in accordance with whether frame recording or continuous recording is applied to the image data recorded therein, and a recording means (17) for recording the image data outputted from the decoding means onto a second recording medium (16). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
