<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wasteful power consumption and light emission from a laser source when a destination unit cannot be searched, and to restart an operation by automatically letting the laser source emit light when laser beam emission is suspended due to malfunction. <P>SOLUTION: An optical space communication device is provided with a laser beam emission control circuit 32 for controlling the power-off of a laser driving circuit 21 which activates the laser sources 3, 20 in accordance with a monitor output from front monitor light detection devices 8b, 27. The laser beam emission control circuit 32 is configured to control the power-off and power-on of the laser driving circuit 21 in accordance with control from a system control circuit 33. By this structure, the laser beam emission control circuit 32 is controlled by the system control circuit 33 so that light emission from the laser source is restarted when the laser beam emission is suspended due to the malfunction, and the light emission from the laser source is stopped when the destination unit cannot be found in a predetermined period of time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
