<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the color processing of various input color signals of different numbers of color components by a small hardware scale. <P>SOLUTION: A color signal control means 100 decomposes an input color signal of m components per bit, compounds them and generates a color signal P of (m+k) components. A color conversion means 200 performs the n-dimensional memory map interpolation operation of the color signal P, and converts it into an output value Q. An interpolation parameter formation section 210 refers to the color signal P, reads lattice point data from an n-dimensional LUT, computes interpolation parameters from a plurality of lattice point data, and sends them to an interpolation operation section 220.
