<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance diagnostic device which instructs learners upon the degree of completion and the degree of progress in a performance technique representing how far the learners have learned the performance. <P>SOLUTION: The performance diagnostic device totals the performance practice frequency and proper performance frequency for every musical note forming a set piece from each practice data recorded in a performance record database, and individually displays each note shown on the musical note according to the degree of completion for every note calculated from a ratio of the proper performance frequency to the performance practice frequency. Moreover, the performance diagnostic device totals for every note a performance result digitizing a performance decision result contained in each practice data recorded in the performance record database DB as a history and the frequency distribution for every performance result, and calculates a linear approximate function representing correlations between each frequency distribution. The device decides the degree of progress for every note from the calculated linear approximate function.
