PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin giving a toner having no odor and excellent blocking resistance of toner and resistance against a plasticizer of vinyl chloride, and also to provide an electrophotographic developing method. SOLUTION: The binder resin contained in the toner contains styrene and/or its derivatives and (meth)acrylic ester as the main constituent, the glass transition point of the binder resin is 50-100°C, and the amount of residual monomers is 200 ppm or less. However, the binder resin excludes a resin that is a product of polymerization of monomers under the presence of a plasticizer of at least 10 wt.% to a total weight of the monomers and the plasticizer.
