PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficient strength, rigidity, and satisfactory movements and satisfy both of a design and a mechanism design by in a sliding door device of a structure provided only with two guide rails or less capable of securing the degree of freedom in the design. SOLUTION: The sliding door device provided for a vehicle etc. is provided with a structure using two guide rail mechanisms or less. A guide mechanism by a plane pair is added to the vicinity of either the guide rails. The guide mechanism is implemented by using both an outer ring of a ball bearing or the like and a member having two approximately plane parts approximately in parallel at an width interval in which a prescribed amount of play is added to the outer diameter of the bearing outer ring and inserting the bearing outer ring into a gap between the two approximately plane parts.
