PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the setting of a chamfering amount according to the thickness of a work and to achieve optimum and stable chamfering by bringing a grinding wheel into contact with the work at a substantially fixed pressure without applying excessive load to each work. SOLUTION: In this chamfering device for a work, a first lever 200 driven to reciprocate by a motor 112 and a second lever 300 having the grinding wheel G and always energized in one direction toward the work 10 by a spring 230 are provided on the same rotating shaft 30, and the first lever 200 is provided with an engagement part 240 for turning the second lever 300 integrally with the first lever 200 from a non-polishing position P to a polishing position Q and separating from the second lever 300 after the grinding wheel G reaches the polishing position Q to come into contact with the work 10.
