<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration or puncture of a circuit element on a control circuit that may be caused to occur by a current that flows even in a stand-by state, and to cut power consumption dependably. <P>SOLUTION: In an image-forming apparatus that operates on the supply of at least two different power source voltages for a drive system and a control system, a high-voltage power supply unit 201 receives the drive system voltage to operate according to a control signal. A CPU 202 operates on the control system voltage, outputs a control signal to the high-voltage power supply unit 201 and controls the operations of the power supply unit 201 by outputting the control signal to the power supply unit 201.
