<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain proper writing conditions for an optical disk having no write strategy data registered therein. <P>SOLUTION: This unit is provided with a means for obtaining a disk ID, a means for executing OPC for each of strategy data of a plurality of set defaults to obtain optimal laser power and the number of detected jitter error pits (number of error pulses) detecting variance in recording pit length or a reproduced data error rate (e.g., C1 error of error correction code in CD), a means for selecting the strategy data of one default based on the obtained jitter information or error rate information, and a means for recording the disk ID, the strategy data of the selected default and a double speed at the time of writing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
