<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording and reproducing device, in which the satisfied recording operation can be carried out by reducing the cross-erase between recording layers when recorded to an optical disk having a plurality of recording layers. <P>SOLUTION: The recording/reproducing operation of this device is carried out by providing an optical pickup 3 for performing the recording/reproducing operation to the plurality of recording layers, a detection means 4 for detecting a reproduced signal detected by the optical pickup 3, a condition setting means 5 for outputting a trial writing recording power value based on this reproduced signal when a recording power is not an optimum trial writing recording power and for outputting this optimum trial writing recording power value when the recording power is the optimum trial writing recording power, a storage means 6 for storing the optimum trial writing recording power value, a trial writing control means 7 for outputting the recording condition for the trial writing, and a recording system control means 8 for outputting the recording power value for writing in trial to each recording layer outputted from the above trial writing control means or for outputting the optimum trial writing recording power value stored in the above storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
