<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive thermosensitive recording material which has excellent capsule isolation and color developing properties, which is writable with light, and which has little color development in the base and has high resolution and low energy consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The photosensitive thermosensitive recording material comprises: a supporting body; and a recording layer having either a diazonium salt or a coupler encapsulated in heat-responsive microcapsules and containing microcapsules which encapsulates all of either the diazonium salt or the coupler not encapsulated in the heat-responsive microcapsule, a polymerizable compound, and a photopolymerization initiator.
