CATALYST FOR MANUFACTURE OF ACRYLIC ACID AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ACRYLIC ACID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst for manufacture of acrylic acid, which has excellent catalyst performances such as catalyst activity and excellent catalyst physical properties such as mechanical strengths of the catalyst, and to provide a method for manufacturing acrylic acid by using the catalyst.

SOLUTION: The catalyst for manufacture of acrylic acid is obtained by molding and sintering a dry material obtained from a mixture liquid of starting source materials containing molybdenum and vanadium as essential components with a liquid binder. The weight reduction rate of the dry material is 5 to 40 mass%. The above catalyst for the manufacture of acrylic acid is used for the method for manufacturing acrylic acid by catalytic vapor phase oxidation of acrolein in the presence of molecular oxygen.
