PANORAMIC PHOTOGRAPHING METHOD, AND IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PHOTOGRAPHING APPARATUS CAPABLE OF UTILIZING THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a special apparatus is necessary for photographing a panoramic image and an image composition processing is very troublesome. SOLUTION: An image input section 16 captures an image of an object consecutively photographed by a CCD camera 14 while shifting an imaging area and stores the image to an image storage section 26 as an input image 28. A local feature point tracking section 18 repeats tracking a moving destination of a local feature point in a one-preceding input image 28 from inside a new input image 28, an image composition section 20 sequentially overlaps the new input image 28 acquired one after another by the image input section 16 onto a panoramic image 30 according to the tracing result to composite a panoramic image 30 with a wider visual field. An image display section 22 displays the panoramic image 30 composited in this way onto a display apparatus 13.
